News

Our last screening was held on Sat 17 Oct 26 when we screened two films; the Australian short film

Maratus, set locally in Namadji National Park, and Lunana - A Yak in the Classroom, set in Bhutan.

We had reasonable attendance, given competition from other events. The films were again well-liked by

reviewers who rated Maratus at 4.7 out of 5 stars and Lunana - A Yak in the Classroom at 4.6 out of 5 stars.

Our next and final screening for the year is on Sat 21 Nov 2026 when we will have a Meal and Movie night with

the film Touch, which is based around an Icelandic man and his relationship with a Japanese woman

with an Australian twist.

The meal will be an optional two-course dinner as a fundraiser for the Gundaroo Hall

and will be catered by the Hall Committee and friends, with the following menu.

First Course - 2 choices:

1. Japanese style rice bowl with oven-baked karaage chicken and endamame smashed cucumber salad;

2. Vegetarian Japanese style rice bowl with miso eggplant and endamame smashed cucumber salad.

Dessert: Hjonabandssela, Icelandic Happy Marriage Cake, with an Aussie twist of Davidson plum and

macadamia.

Cost: $45 per head payable to the Gundaroo Hall.

advising the menu choice for everyone in your party before Wed 17 Nov 2026.

Doors open at 6:00 pm for all to socialise before the the meal which will be served at 6:30 pm.

Introduction and screening of the film starts at 7:30 pm.
