Welcome to the Gundaroo Film Society

The World in Cinema

Late News

Well our Movie and Meal night in April proved to be a great success. Thanks to all who attended and to the wonderful Hall Committee, who prepared the meal, for helping to make the evening such an enjoyable occasion.

We have two films screening this month on Sat 18 May 2024. The first is Light Years.  This is a short film, with images restored by the National Film and Sound Archive, which documents the life and work of renowned Australian photographer Olive Cotton.

The second film is Japanese Story, directed and produced by Sue Brooks and staring Australian actress Toni Collette. Japanese Story is set in the Australian outback, in the Pilbara region. Sandy, a geologist, is stuck on a field trip with a Japanese businessman whom she dislikes and the feeling is pretty much mutual.  Their journey is one of change and discovery in their arid surrounds.

More details about the films and a link to available trailers can be found on the program page.

Doors open at 6:00 pm for members and guests to BYO meals and drinks to enjoy and have time to socialise before the films.

The films start at 7:00 pm.

Please spread the word  among your friends.

Why not get a group to come along and enjoy a great night on Sat 18th May 2024?
