Welcome to the Gundaroo Film Society

The World in Cinema

Late News

We had a wonderful evening on 15 November with a delicious meal, prepared by the very talented Colin

and his team of Gundaroo Hall helpers, followed by the screening of the film the Taste of Things

This film is quite unique, it's about the close relationship between the food, the chef, the cook and the consumers.

However, the film has no soundtrack as such, the only sounds being the talking between the staff

and the delicious sounds of food preparation, the sizzle from cooking and the eating.

The film is a bit too long and I guess this reflects the long standing relationship over 20 years

between the cook Eugenie and chef Dodin. The photography and characters are

beautifully portrayed, and include emotion, tragedy and finally hope.

Overall, a wonderful conclusion to our 2025 season.

The Gundaroo Film Society is now in recess until our opening screening next year with

Queen of Katwe on 21 February 2026. Further details will be provided closer to the event

and the full 2026 program can be seen under the Program tab in the menu above.

Looking forward to another great season in 2026.
