The winner of the Palme d ‘Or at Cannes Film Festival follows a middle aged, blue collar carpenter struggling to navigate the bureaucracy of the British benefits system after an injury leaves him unable to work. Or so he thought so.

A Ken Loach film.

Holding the Man  is a 2015 Australian romantic drama film adapted from Timothy Conigrave’s 1995 memoir of the same name. It was directed by Neil Armfield and stars Ryan Corr and Craig Stott, with supporting performances from Guy Pearce, Anthony LaPaglia, Sarah Snook, Kerry Fox and Geoffrey Rush. Very relevant given last year’s change to Australia’s marriage act.
